Exynos 2500 Confirmed (and Causing a Stir)

For a while now, there’ve been whispers that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 would pack Samsung’s new Exynos 2500 chip. Well, the Geekbench listing pretty much seals the deal on that one. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 Exynos 2500 combo pulled in a single-core score of 2,012 and a multi-core score of 7,563. If you’re into the nitty-gritty, its CPU layout includes one core at 3.30 GHz, two at 2.75 GHz, five at 2.36 GHz, and two at 1.80 GHz.

Beyond the main brain, we also learned it’ll feature Samsung’s Xclipse 950 GPU and a beefy 12 GB of RAM. Software-wise, expect to see it running Android 16 right out of the box, layered with Samsung’s very own One UI 8.0. That Galaxy Z Flip 7 Geekbench score really gives us a sense of its raw power, or lack thereof, depending on who you ask!

Is the Exynos 2500 Powerful Enough? Users Aren’t So Sure

Now, about those performance numbers… they’ve definitely sparked some chatter online, and not all of it positive. A few users are pointing out that the Exynos 2500 performance comparison actually puts it behind rivals like Apple and Qualcomm. One person even noted that its single-core score is oddly close to Apple’s A14 chip from way back in 2020. Another chimed in, saying the multi-core score isn’t far off from the 2023 A17 Pro.

While it is a bit better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that we saw in last year’s Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6, the Exynos 2500 still seems to lag behind the very newest flagship processors out there. You might notice its top CPU core runs a bit slower than many competitors, which could be a conscious choice to keep things from overheating. It looks like people in the U.S., India, and South Korea can expect to see this Exynos 2500 chip in their devices, suggesting a pretty wide global rollout.

When Can We Expect It?

Samsung hasn’t given us an official date yet, but the rumor mill is buzzing. We’re expecting them to pull back the curtain on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and even the new Galaxy Watch 8 Series at their July 2025 Samsung Unpacked event. Keep your eyes peeled, as more details, including the official Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 release date, will likely trickle out as we get closer to the big reveal.
