Land Rover has globally unveiled the Defender Octa Black Edition, an all-black version of its powerful SUV. Finished in Narvik Black, the Octa Black gets over 30 blacked-out elements, a premium interior with Kvadrat fabric, and a 635hp twin-turbo V8 engine.

Earlier this year, Land Rover launched the Defender Octa in India at a starting price of Rs 2.59 crore, ex-showroom. Now, the brand has taken things a step further by revealing a sleek new variant — the Octa Black Edition. Just unveiled globally, this special version brings in a series of visual upgrades, both inside and out, that give the SUV a much bolder personality.

Let’s take a closer look at what makes this all-black beast stand out.

Blacked-Out and Bold on the Outside

The Land Rover Defender Octa Black Edition wears a Narvik Black paint finish and packs in more than 30 darkened elements — including the front grille, exhaust tips, tow hooks, scuff plates, and even parts underneath the body. It’s clearly designed to make a statement.

Buyers can choose between 20- or 22-inch gloss black wheels, which come paired with black brake calipers. This combination gives the SUV a stealthy, aggressive vibe that’s hard to ignore.

A Dark and Luxe Cabin Experience

Step inside, and the blackout theme continues. The cabin features Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather paired with Kvadrat fabric — a first for any Defender. The seats have a fresh perforation pattern, and for those who love custom touches, the dashboard can be optioned with chopped carbon fibre.

In terms of features, the SUV is well-loaded. You get a new 13.1-inch touchscreen, updated LED signature lights, and smoked taillamps — all adding to that premium, futuristic feel.

Power That Matches the Presence

Don’t let the sleek looks fool you — the Defender Octa Black still packs serious power under the hood. It runs on a 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine that pumps out 635 hp and 750 Nm of torque. That’s enough to take you from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds.

You also get Land Rover’s advanced 6D Dynamics suspension system and the rugged OCTA Mode, both designed to handle high-speed off-roading with ease.

What About India?

Land Rover has already tasted success with models like the Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition, and the Defender OCTA Black seems to be the next step in that direction. While there’s no official date yet, it’s expected to arrive in India by late 2025 or early 2026.
