With a mix of iterative upgrades and bold AI-driven innovations, the Pixel 10 series is poised to offer a balanced blend of performance, photography, and futuristic features.

The Google Pixel 10 series is already making waves ahead of its expected August launch, with numerous leaks and rumours offering a glimpse of what’s to come. This generation could mark a significant leap forward, especially with the switch from Samsung to TSMC for the Tensor G5 chip, promising major performance improvements.

Design and Colours

According to a behind-the-scenes commercial shoot leak by X user Mark Teasdale, the Pixel 10 will retain the design language of its predecessor. However, Google may introduce fresh new colour options to differentiate it from the Pixel 9 series, including a standout yellow shade called “Limoncello.”

AI Features

The Pixel 10 is expected to be AI-heavy, aligning with Google’s “Ask more of your phone” tagline from I/O 2025. Several innovative features are rumoured, including:

  • Video Generative ML: Allows advanced video editing directly within Google Photos.
  • Speak-to-Tweak: Enables users to edit photos using voice commands.
  • Sketch-to-Image: Transforms rough sketches into realistic images using generative AI.

These additions reinforce Google’s continued focus on AI-enhanced usability and creativity.

Cameras

Camera upgrades on the Pixel 10 are a mixed bag. While most models are expected to retain similar hardware to their predecessors, the base Pixel 10 may finally gain a telephoto lens, as hinted in the leaked commercial and backed by sources at Android Authority. However, this comes at a cost.

To accommodate the telephoto lens, the Pixel 10’s primary and ultrawide sensors might be downgraded. The primary camera could shift to a smaller Samsung GN8 sensor, while the ultrawide may use the Sony IM712, both of which previously appeared on the more budget-friendly Pixel 8a. The new 11MP Samsung 3J1 telephoto lens is borrowed from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but smaller sensors typically deliver weaker performance, especially in low light.

The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are expected to retain their existing camera hardware but may benefit from better computational photography, thanks to the more powerful Tensor G5 chip.

Launch and Pricing

Google is expected to unveil the Pixel 10 series in August 2025, with four models in the lineup:

  • Pixel 10
  • Pixel 10 Pro
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL
  • Pixel 10 Pro Fold

Pricing is reportedly unchanged from last year, with the Pixel 10 starting at Rs 79,999 and the Pixel 10 Pro at Rs 99,999. Final pricing for the XL and Fold variants is yet to be confirmed.

With a mix of iterative upgrades and bold AI-driven innovations, the Pixel 10 series aims to offer a balanced blend of performance, photography, and futuristic features.
