Just when we thought smartphone designs were starting to look the same, Nothing comes along to shake things up—again. A leaked image of what seems to be the Nothing Phone (3) is making rounds online, and let’s just say, it’s not what anyone expected. It’s bold, it’s weird (in a good way), and it might just be the most unique phone of the year.
Let’s break down what we’re seeing—and why it matters.
A Pixel-Art Alien on the Back? Yep.
The first thing that grabs your attention is this circular LED screen in the top-right corner of the back. In the leaked photo, it’s showing a pixelated alien that looks like it came straight out of an old-school arcade game. If this is real—and not just a playful prototype—it could mean Nothing is adding animated icons, fun notifications, or even mini-games to its signature Glyph interface.
Let that sink in: a phone that might show you a dancing alien when you get a message? Sign us up.
Triple Cameras… and a Big Surprise
The camera layout is another big change. Instead of the standard two-camera setup we saw on the Phone (2), this one has three lenses, including a chunky center one that looks like it means business—possibly a periscope zoom lens. That would be a major upgrade and a clear sign that Nothing wants to get serious about photography this year.
There’s also an LED flash and an extra sensor next to the cameras, which could be for depth, macro, or maybe even AR features.
Industrial Design With a Gamer Twist
Remember the clear, glassy back on previous Nothing phones? This one’s got a matte, almost industrial-looking finish with what looks like circuit patterns and gears etched into the back. It’s clean but edgy—almost like it was inspired by a PlayStation or some sort of mechanical gadget.
There’s still that distinct Nothing design DNA, but this version feels a lot more grown-up—and a lot more “techy.”
What Could This Mean for the Actual Phone?
Now, before you start throwing your money at the screen, keep in mind: this is just a leak, possibly a prototype or a concept version. But it does match the kind of bold, experimental thinking we’ve seen from Carl Pei and the Nothing team before.
If this image is anything to go by, the Nothing Phone (3) might come with:
- A Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (or maybe the full-fledged 8 Gen 3) processor
- Up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage
- Even more customizable Glyph lighting and pixel art animations
- Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.x
- And of course, a focus on camera improvements
- The launch is expected sometime around July 2025, so we won’t have to wait long to find out what’s real.
If this leak is legit, the Nothing Phone (3) could be more than just another smartphone. It could be a conversation piece. A fun, functional gadget that brings some much-needed playfulness back to tech.
Because let’s face it—phones have gotten boring. But this? This looks like fun.
