Reliance Jio has announced that it will give its subscribers free access to the Google AI Pro plan for 18 months — a package valued at over ₹3,500. The move comes just after OpenAI revealed that its ChatGPT Go subscription would be free for Indian users for one year, underscoring how India has become a hotbed for AI adoption.
Who Can Get the Free Google AI Pro Plan?
The offer is currently available only to Jio customers who are on a 5G Unlimited plan priced at ₹349 or above. Both prepaid and postpaid users are eligible, as long as they remain subscribed to one of these qualifying plans throughout the 18-month period.
However, there’s an age restriction for now. Only users between 18 and 25 years old can claim the free plan at this stage. Jio says it will open up the offer to more users later. If you’re above 25, you can still register your interest through the MyJio app and get notified when the subscription becomes available for everyone.
How to Claim Your Free Google AI Pro Subscription
If you meet the criteria, here’s how to activate the plan:
- Open the MyJio app on your phone.
- Look for the Google AI Pro subscription banner on the homepage.
- Tap “Claim Now” and enter the required details.
- You may need to provide your Gmail ID to activate the subscription.
- Once done, you’ll get immediate access to Google AI Pro.
What Does Google AI Pro Include?
The subscription gives you access to Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro, its most advanced AI model. With features like Deep Research and a 1-million-token context window, Gemini can handle more data, process complex queries, and give more coherent answers.
Users also get enhanced creative tools, including:
- Nano Banana for advanced image generation.
- Veo 3.1 Fast for limited video generation.
- 2TB of cloud storage across Google Photos, Drive, and Gmail.
Plus, Gemini is directly integrated into Google apps like Gmail and Docs, allowing you to draft, edit, and analyze with AI assistance built right in.
Why It Matters
With this partnership, Jio and Google are making cutting-edge AI more accessible to India’s young users, while also giving them premium storage and productivity tools. As AI competition heats up with OpenAI and Perplexity already in the game, Indian users are emerging as the real winners — getting premium AI features for free.
